History

It is important children have an interest and understanding about the life of people who lived in the past. We do this by teaching children a sense of chronology and developing their historical enquiry skills. We encourage children to consider how people lived in the past and the impact of history on modern Britain, as we believe that this better prepares them to make their own life choices today.

How you can help your child:
• Talk about how the world has changed since you were young.
• Get them to ask their grandparents about their lives.
• Visit museums and castles.
• Research history topics together before they start them at school.
